The engagement, step by step
Each stage ends with something for you to check or approve.
- Scope. You approve a written list of channels, pages, tracking and reporting, with the partner's quote.
- Access. You grant admin or standard access through each platform's user settings. No passwords are shared.
- Build. You look over ad copy, audiences and landing page drafts and ask for changes.
- Go-live. You confirm budgets, the partner launches, and test conversions are checked in each platform.
Gather these first
A short pack of information gets you a clearer quote.
- Company name, website and the person who will approve work
- Services or products to advertise, in order of priority
- Customer types or areas to target, and any to exclude
- Monthly ad budget range
- Current ad, analytics and tag accounts, and who administers them
- Where inquiries go, and the tool your sales process runs in
- Any consent wording you use on forms for calls or texts, as set up with your own counsel
Data stays with your business
Campaign history, audiences, conversion data and inquiry records all belong to you. Keep them in accounts you own: the ad platforms, GA4, your tag container and your CRM. The partner should not copy customer lists out of those systems or hold them elsewhere without your written agreement. If they upload a customer list to Meta or Google for matching, ask how it is handled and who can see it. And if your forms collect phone numbers for calls or texts, the consent wording is yours to set up with your own counsel, since TCPA rules fall on the business making the contact.
Reporting and regular check-ins
A useful report can be read without a meeting. For each campaign it shows what was spent, how many clicks and conversions were recorded and what each conversion cost, plus a short note on what was changed and why. Ask for the numbers to come straight from the ad platforms and GA4, so you can check them yourself. Many arrangements add a regular check-in, monthly or quarterly, to look at what is working and what to try next. Those meetings are where budget shifts, new offers and new pages get decided.
You keep the accounts and the data. Ask a service partner to quote the hands-on work.
